Episode 1 · Night of the Flickering Hill
Mira: Hello, dear listeners. Tonight, we begin with a small dragon on a quiet hill... where even a little glow can feel like a big thing. Hugo: Mm. If you're tucked in somewhere warm, listen slowly with us. There is no hurry tonight. Mira: Under the moon, Emberly sits curled on soft moss. Cool air brushes the hill. Wind moves gently, and crickets make their small, steady music. Emberly likes those sounds. They do not ask her to be anything. Hugo: That feels safe. Quiet sounds, doing what quiet sounds do. Mira: Inside Emberly, a few embers warm and flicker. Not bright, not loud... just enough to color the dark around her. But she worries someone might see her. She curls closer, and lets one slow breath come in... then out. Hugo: A tiny breath can be a brave beginning, especially for a shy heart. Mira: Then, far away, Emberly notices a faint light. It flickers somewhere beyond the hill. Curiosity lifts its head inside her. Nervousness does too. Um, both feelings can sit together for a while. Hugo: They can. She does not need to hurry past either one. Mira: Emberly breathes again, steady and soft. She uncurls one paw, then takes one tiny, careful step toward the glow. The moss holds her. The moon stays quiet above. Hugo: One step is enough for tonight. Small courage is still courage. Mira: Soon, Emberly settles down, her heart steadier. She watches the flickering light like a promise... Next time, we'll stay with her awhile longer. Good night.
Episode 2 · A Soft Thank-You and a New Friend
Mira: Last time, Emberly stood on the moonlit hill and noticed a lonely light trembling below. She did not know who needed it... only that it looked alone. Hugo: And noticing, sometimes, is the first small courage. Mira: She followed its glow through silver grass to a shallow pool. The water held a deep hush. Beside it, a small night fox tended a lantern of collected glowbugs. Hugo: So careful with each little light. Mira: The fox’s paws moved gently. Then a cool gust crossed the pool, and the lantern dimmed. Emberly’s warm embers shimmered in the water, like tiny stars. She felt shy... and saw the fox’s worry. Hugo: She could help without having to make a big sound. Mira: Emberly stepped closer, though not too close, and breathed one gentle golden breath. The gust warmed around the lantern. The glowbugs brightened. The fox looked up, surprised, then soft-eyed. Hugo: “Thank you,” the fox said. That was enough to make Emberly’s heart feel less hidden. Mira: Then the fox placed a tiny smooth stone in Emberly’s paw, pale as moonlight. A quiet token of trust. Emberly curled her claws around it and smiled. Hugo: A new friend... beginning with warmth, and a little courage. Mira: Sleep softly, dear listeners. May you feel warmly seen tonight.
